About us
SES Combustion AB supplies products, systems and services for industrial combustion plants and vessels worldwide. The control systems include safety systems, burner controls and complete boiler set-ups to black liquor recovery boilers as well as steam and hot water boilers. We are passionate to help industrial customers with combustion. Effective combustion that reduce the environment impact. Our wide range of products and services in combination with a professional cooperation makes that possible.
SOME MILESTONES IN THE
History of SES Combustion
| 1980 | 3 technicians who worked with steam boilers since 1968 in Nordisk Elektronik AB and Amlab AB in Nynäshamn, Sweden bought the business area Steam Boiler Automation from the Axel Johnson Group in Sweden. S.E.S. Scandinavian Electronics AB was founded. |

| 1982 | S.E.S. received lots of orders from ABB Sunrod AB – control systems for steam boilers in ships. | |

|
||
| 1983 | The first PLC-based control system for paper mills was delivered and commissioned at Kvarnsvedens Bruk (Stora Enso). | |
|
|
||
| 1984 | The first PLC-based safety system for a solid fuel fired boiler (fluidized bed,CFB) was delivered to a district heating plant in Nyköping, Sweden. | |
|
|
||
| 1990 | The first control system with our own developed electronic units, was delivered to a ship yard in former Yugoslavia. The system contained the SESCON controller that Aalborg Industries in Korea (nowadays Alfa Laval) stated to be “The world’s best feed water control unit” 10 years later. | |

||
| 1999 | Our own developed smoke density monitor SESOBS was introduced and it became a worldwide product a couple of years later. Samsung ship yard in Korea uses it as a standard solution. | |

| 2001 | Wooree Mek (former Marine Equipment Korea) became the first company to represent our products abroad. | |
|
|
||
| 2003 | The Korean steam boiler manufacturer KangRim became our first licensee and manufacturer of S.E.S. control systems in a period of 5 years. | |

||
| 2006 | We acquire Heede Controls AB with world-leading combustion technology products. Percy Adsjö bring us high knowledge of black liquor recovery boilers. |  |

|
||
| 2007 | We change company name to SES Combustion AB and to protect a strong brand the parent company changes name to S.E.S. Scandinavian Electronics AB. | |

| 2009 | SES Combustion AB deliver the first SES-Turboflame burners for marine steam boilers. The first ones goes to the cruise ship M/S Seabourn Pride, presently WINDSTAR PRIDE. | |
|
|
||
| 2013 | We introduce and sell the first burner control (BMS) based on Fireye BurnerLogix and ABB Pluto PLC to BillerudKorsnäs Karlsborgs Paper Mill in Sweden. | |
|

||
| 2017 | We introduce a service concept to provide maintenance and spare parts for asphalt plants. | |
